How to Make an Eyeglass Case for Flex Frames

Flex eyeglass frames should be carefully stored in a protective case, to keep them safe from damage to the frames and scratches on the lenses. Heavy wool felt, found at fabric stores, is perfect for the job. The soft and durable felt will cushion the frames while protecting them. As an added bonus, wool felt will not ravel, making this sewing project a snap. Stitch up a bunch of these attractive cases in bright colors that will be easy to spot inside a dark purse for practical gifts.

Instructions
things you’ll need:
1/4-yard wool felt
Ruler
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Pinking shears

1 With the scissors, cut two rectangles of felt to measure 3-inches by 7-inches.

2 Layer the rectangles on top of each other. Pin two long edges and one short edge together with the straight pins, leaving one short edge open.

3 Sew a straight seam 1/2-inch from the pinned edges.

4 Trim all felt edges, including the opening, with the pinking shears.
