Do-It-Yourself Eyeglass Cleaner

Those who are not blessed with perfect vision are well aware of the never-ending task of keeping their eyeglasses clean. The lenses are prone to frequent smudges, fingerprints and dust. Commercial eyeglass cleaner can be pricey, especially if you need to clean your lenses often. Make your own eyeglass cleaning solution from Castile soap and glycerin and keep it in a jar in a handy place. If you are pressed for time, use the quicker recipe of just rubbing alcohol and water.

Instructions
things you’ll need:
Recipe One
1 bar Castile soap
Cooking pot
1 tbsp. glycerine
Jar
Clean, soft cloth
Recipe Two
Spray bottle
Rubbing alcohol

Castile Soap Cleaner
1 Slice 1/4 of the bar of soap into small pieces, about the size of a quarter.

2 Place the soap pieces in a pot and add just enough water to cover them.

3 Bring it to a boil while stirring. Reduce the heat and continue stirring until all the soap pieces are dissolved.

4 Add 1 tbsp. of glycerin and stir until it is fully incorporated into the soap.

5 Remove the pot from the stove and allow the mixture to completely cool before pouring it into a jar.

6 Dip your fingertip into the cooled mixture, dab a drop or two on each side of your lenses and use a clean, soft cloth to polish them.

Rubbing Alcohol Cleaner
1 Fill a clean spray bottle about 3/4 full with rubbing alcohol.

2 Fill the bottle of the rest of the way with water and shake gently.

3 Squirt both sides of the lenses and gently rub dry with a soft, clean cloth.

Tips & Warnings
To avoid scratching the lenses of your glasses, do not use a dirty cloth, paper towels or toilet paper to clean them. A clean cloth that has been treated with fabric softener may leave behind smudges that can be difficult to remove.
