Should You Buy Cheap Sunglasses?

Getting a pair of sunglasses may seem to be one of the most mundane things you could ever read about, but have you truly given this a thought? When you buy an eye wear, do you simply grab the one that looks nice? Don’t you want to consider the other features that may come along with it? Are cheap sunglasses all there is to find? If you think that there is nothing more than the cost, think again. You may be counting the days to your healthy eyes.

Basically, there are four purposes that a good pair of sunglasses should serve: It should protect your eyes from the harmful UV rays, it should shield you from glare that can cause terrible headaches, it must eliminate certain frequencies of light, and it definitely must protect you from intense light.

Now, when you buy a pair of cheap sunglasses, you generally give up all of those purposes, meaning, your purchase was utterly useless. For instance, these very affordable pieces of eye wear rarely offer UV protection. If there’s no UV protection, then you increase your UV rays exposure. When you do, you ruin your eyes. Yes, these cheap pairs of sun wear could provide you with some protection from intense light, but, the protection is insufficient that it can even cause your iris to open and let more light in. When this happens, you start damaging your retina.

Many people are easily blinded by the cheap sunglasses that have mushroomed all over the place. They look exactly like the designer brands they have long been drooling about, only they are much more affordable. Beware of these impostors. Yes, they may look nice and expensive, but they are truly not even half as good. Would you be willing to take the risk of harming your eyes for the sake of getting what seems to be trendy?

The main problem with the cheap imitation eye wear is their lenses. These pseudo-branded items you find in the flea markets are actually made of ordinary plastic lenses that were coated thinly. Yes, their tint color and frame definitely look like an Oakley, but their effects on your eyes are actually ugly. They do not and can not serve as a genuine light conditioner, which is the main purpose of sunglasses. You see? Manufacturers of functional sunglasses use different technologies in creating their products. Needless to say, manufacturers of cheap sunglasses don’t use the same technologies. That’s why they sell cheap.
