How to Keep Eyeglasses From Slipping Down Your Nose

Anyone with even slightly bad eyesight can relate to the nuisance of eyeglasses slipping down your nose. Particularly in the summer, the heat can make you practically sweat your glasses off your face. Fortunately, this is a simple problem caused by excess oil on your skin. It is easy to solve and you likely already have the materials required at your home.

Instructions
things you’ll need:
Oil-reducing face wash
Baby powder
Oil-reducing face cloths (optional)

1 Remove your eyeglasses to clean your face. Using a dab of the oil-reducing face wash and some warm water, lather up the area on and around your nose. Especially pay attention to the creases on the sides of your nostrils as oil can collect there.

2 Rinse your face with clean, cool water to close the pores and dab dry with a towel. Cleanse your face in this manner twice daily — once in the morning and once in the evening before bed.

3 Gently lather up the nose pads on your eyeglasses with the same oil-reducing face wash. Rinse and dry off your glasses.

4 Dab a small amount of the baby powder onto your nose using your fingers or a makeup brush. Pay extra attention to the top of your nose where your eyeglasses usually rest as well as the creases on the sides of your nostrils. Brush away any excess powder.

5 Use oil-reducing face cloths during the day should your nose become oily and the glasses start slipping again.

Tips & Warnings
A glass cleaner towelette pre-soaked in alcohol (you can buy these at any drugstore) is another useful item to keep handy should your glasses begin slipping again during the day. You can also use these to occasionally wipe down the nose pads of your glasses.

Do not wash your face too frequently as this will cause your skin to dry out, which will make the oil in your skin regenerate even faster.

Avoid moisturizing the area on and around your nose too much, as this will also cause too much excess oil.
