How to Keep Eyeglasses on Your Child

One minute they’re lost, the next minute they’re broken… This is heard by many parents with small children who have eye glasses, and we all know it is a pain to keep the eyeglasses on our child.

Instructions
1 Let your child choose the eye glasses they like the most. If there are some that are un-practical for you child, elimate those before the choosing begins. By letting the child choose, they will like the glasses more, and be more excited about them.

2 Creating a routine with the eye glasses will help. Choosing a place to put the eye glasses when they are not being worn, will help eliminate confusion on where the eye glasses are after naps, bath time, or waking up in the morning.

3 The first week of wearing eye glasses will be the most crucial in getting used to them. Making sure your child has them on at all appropriate times and noticing when they are missing is also hard for the parent as they are not used to the child having eye glasses either.

4 A reward system is optional here. You can use a treat or sticker for every day they wear them and don’t take them off.

Tips & Warnings
It may take some time and a few pairs of glasses to get your child used to wearing them.

If the eye glasses are falling off of the face, take them to the eye doctor’s office to have them adjusted.
