In the past, I always bear very complicated feeling towards eyeglasses. But now, I have to say eyeglasses have changed my life, or should to say have enhanced my standard of living. Let me tell you what have happened to me.
As a mailman, I had to deal with a lot of letters and other documents every day. And during the past twenty years, I found my eye sight suffered a lot. Particularly, about five years ago, I found my vision declined greatly. Objects around me became blurry and even I could not clearly see my colleagues’ faces.
Since then, I performed very badly in my work and I was reproached by my boss and I felt very disappointed. I did not know what to do or how to do? I had told this to my close friends and my wife. Their ideas fell into two opposite groups- some of them suggested me to do some natural eye exercises, whereas others suggested me to wear eyeglasses. The first group said those eye exercises were really nice and eyeglasses may lead to even worse vision degeneration. While the latter group affirmed that eyeglasses were useful and safe for me. Each group had raised a lot of examples and theories, and then I became confused. I did not know which of them was correct.
I had tried to do the exercises for some weeks, but I found it can not work, for each day I had to lower my head while working. I thought it was not a good idea to wear eyeglasses in such a rushing way. I needed more time to consider.
One weekend, I was scanning on some websites. Suddenly, some titles stroked my eyes. I could not control my excitement and read the information in one breath. I found this page very useful for me, or exclusively for me. I told myself I should reconsider my attitude towards eyeglasses. Maybe it was a good idea to search for more information about those glasses. I had spent all the weekend gaining such information.
After that, I decided to consult with some eye doctors, for I just wanted to assure that what I knew was correct. With the suggestions of those eye doctors, I confirmed that I was in need of eyeglasses.
More surprises were ahead of me, after I had entered the optical stores. I had bypassed optical stores many times, but never had I thought they are so fabulous. The optometrists had prescribed for me. I found those prescribed lenses very magical, for I could see anything before me. The staffs also suggested me to select some frames that I loved most. I could not decide which ones to choose from, for the items were dazzling. A last, I selected one frame that made me more like a gentleman.
With the new eyeglasses, I found my world became much brighter and people around me much kind-hearted. What surprised me most was my working performance had gained great praise.
Now, with my beloved eyeglasses, I think I have regained and gained a lot. My wife says I am much more attractive, my friends think I am more confident. And my boss always praise that I have done very good job. I just wonder why not wear eyeglasses earlier. Till now, I have not found any degeneration in my eye sight, but enhancement and happiness.
