How to Clean Prescription Eyeglasses

Prescription eyeglasses are commonly made from plastic, and they require special care and cleaning. Rough cloths or strong cleaning products can scratch the lenses or break down the coating. When your glasses become smudged with fingerprints, residue or dust, they’re difficult to see through and look unattractive. Use gentle cleaning products and soft cloths to prevent damage or scratches on the lenses. Clean your prescription eyeglasses regularly to keep them crystal clear

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:
Soft lint-free cloths
Mild detergent

•1Wipe the eyeglass lenses gently with a soft, dry cloth to remove any light dust or residue.

•2Dampen the soft cloth with warm water and wring it out. Apply 1 or 2 drops of mild detergent to the cloth and wipe the lenses and frames with the cloth.

•3Rinse the glasses under lukewarm running water to remove any detergent residue.

•4Shake off any excess water and dry the glasses with a soft, lint-free cloth.
