How to Clean Your Eyeglasses or Sunglasses, Making them Streak Free and Shiny!

It can be hard to keep eyeglasses and sunglasses clean and streak free. I have the worst time seeing when I try to wear my prescription sunglasses to drive if they are dirty. Here is the best way to completely clean your glasses and get them streak free.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:
Dawn or other degreasing dish detergent
Running Water
Windex or other glass cleaner
Paper towels
Microfiber cloth or a cloth baby diaper
Glasses and case

1 Wash your glasses or sunglasses with detergent and warm water. Handle them gently, and use your fingertips to thoroughly clean the lenses.

2 Dry them gently, using a paper towel.

3 Using spray glass cleaner, carefully clean the lenses with a dry paper towel. Gently polish with the microfiber cloth or dry cloth baby diaper.

4 Keep your glasses in their case when you are not wearing them to keep them from getting dirty or damaged.

Tips & Warnings
I have found that Dawn works the best to get all the oils off of your glasses that come from your face and the environment..Windex is better because of the streak free shine.

Cloth baby diapers are excellent for cleaning and polishing any kind of glass or smooth surface and can be found at second hand stores or in the baby section. Be sure to launder them before using them on your glasses. Choose the ones that say “flat fold” because you do not need the reinforced center section.

Avoid cleaning plastic lensed glasses with a dry cloth. Small particles can irreparably scratch your lenses.

Never set your glasses down on something that you can sit on (bed, chair, etc.) to avoid sitting on them. This was an expensive lesson for me!.
