How to Hide Eyeglass Scratches

Eye glasses can be scratched easily through everyday use, such as setting them on a table, dropping them, or wearing them outside on a windy day. If your lenses get scratched, there is no need to pay for costly repairs. You can easily fill in and hide the scratch by using household products, such as toothpaste and baking soda.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:
Toothpaste or baking soda
Cloth

1 Clean the eye glasses using a lens cleaning solution or warm water and soap. Dry the glasses thoroughly using a clean cloth.

2 Apply a dab of non-gel toothpaste to the lens of your eye glasses. Cover the area of the scratch completely by spreading the toothpaste around.

3 Buff the glass by rubbing it with a small cloth for about ten seconds. Use circular motions and be sure to completely cover the area that contains the scratch.

4 Rinse the glasses under cold water, making sure to remove all of the toothpaste and residue from the glass. Dry the glasses with a soft, clean and dry towel.
