How to Remove Glue From Eyeglasses

Glue can damage eyeglasses, especially super glue. It is fairly easy to remove before the glue does any damage. Make sure you have a clean, scratch-free surface with a lot of light. Glue removal works best when you can concentrate on the process without distractions.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:
Acetone nail polish remover
Q-tips
Water
Paper towels

Removing the Glue
1 Dip one end of the Q-tip into the nail polish remover.

2 Gently rub the saturated Q-tip on the surface of the glue. Work slowly and carefully. It is possible to dislodge a shard of glue that could scratch the surface. Soak the area and rub until the glue softens.

3 Rinse eyeglasses with water and dry with a paper towel. Examine for any traces of glue. If some of the glue remains, repeat step 2.

4 Dry eyeglasses thoroughly with the paper towel.
